Large Gilt Bronze Seated Buddha, Sino-Tibetan, 17th/18th Century
Heavily cast and well patinated throughout, the rounded face with meditative expression and downcast eyes, a broad nose, and full lips framed by a pair of elongated and fleshy ears with tight whorls of hair and an elaborate top knot, the figure dressed in decorated robes cascading away from the body seated in a cross legged position with the soles of his feet upturned, the whole raised on a double lotus plinth performing the vitarka and jnana mudras
