Note:
A.J. Casson found the Cloche Hills to be an “excellent place to sketch.” The landscape’s jack pines and lichen-covered white rocks had a strong affect on Casson. Utilizing a cool colour palette, the artist chisels out a raw and moody drama. The ragged lines of clouds, the downpour in the distance, and the dark silhouettes of trees, evoke the powerful sweep of the brewing storm.
