ALEXANDER YOUNG JACKSON, O.S.A., R.C.A.
Provenance:
Private Collection, Toronto
Note:
Jackson enjoyed sketching in the lower St. Lawrence region. In fact, until 1947 he spent most of March and April sketching in the area. Jackson frequently revisited St. Tite des Caps which he describes in his autobiography as: “One of the places we loved to paint...It was not one of the old villages, but it lay in a hollow encircled by hills, and we could look down on it from several directions. The snow lingered there when it had gone in most other places.”
