Lot 33
MARCELLE FERRON, R.C.A.
Provenance:
Dr. Michel Larose (physician to the artist), Montreal.
Private Collection, Montreal.
Note:
Towards 1953, as the Automatist group broke up, Ferron decided to go to France, taking her three daughters with her. She spent the majority of her 13 years abroad at Clamart, a suburb of Paris, where she rented a house and set up a studio. It was during this period when Sans Titre was painted and Ferron laid the foundation for her career as a painter. Her works, abstracts full of light and life, pleased the European art world.
